Having a subtropical climate in the North Atlantic ocean, Bermuda is prone to hurricanes. The hurricane season is June to November, and the costs of damages can reach up to $650 million per hurricane.
Water on the island is scarce, and sea levels are estimated to rise between .59 and 2 meters by 2100. If this happens, more than half the island will be underwater.
The island currently is heavily dependent on imported oil but plans to run on 20% renewable energy by 2020.
