In Switzerland the CO2 emission levels reached a peak in 1997 with a per capita usage of 1.1 metric tons. Currently that number has decreased to 0.9 metric tons. “Switzerland plans to reduce 50% of Greenhouse gas emissions, 1990 levels by 2030” The Alps are a prime staple for switzerland. With summers getting warmer and winters getting more moist there is more likely a chance of flooding from melting and increased rainfall.   “Natural disasters found in Switzerland include storms, floods, and extreme temperatures. Because the precipitation level is high, floods are quite common. In the mountains, avalanches occur often. However, there are not that many natural disasters in Switzerland.”
